Gypsum Block Wall

plastec Gypsum Light Weight Block consists of high grade Alpha gypsum, alkaline resistance glass-fibres sand aggregate and approved silicon additive for moisture resistance properties. Using the German Advance Technology, the process of moulding the Gypsum Blocks are done by 'Injection Method', which is done under stringent control to ensure excellent quality and consistency.

Gypsum Light Weight Block have two smooth surfaces and each block is moluded with tongue and groove at all sides, to enable them to be fitted perfectly together during assembly. The blocks are light, simple and faster to build and provides a quality smooth finsihing without the need of sand plastering.

Uts durability, robustility and rigidity is proven after all the stringent test accordance to British Standard.

PRODUCT PROPERTIES

FIRE RESISTANCE
plastec Gypsum Block achieved a fire rating of 4 hours under fire resistance test Bristish Standard 476 Part 22 : 1987 The material is also non-combustible tested in accordance with Bristish Standard 476 Part 4 : 1970.
LIGHT WEIGHT
Gypsum Blocks weights only 16kg per block which is 64kg/m² for a 100mm thick wall. This is an advantage in high rise building and A&A building as Architects/Enginneers as plastec Gypsum Block Wall is much lighter than conventional masonry wall
MOISTURE RESISTANCE
plastec Gypsum (Hydro) Block bluish in colour has a very low water absorption capacity at a movement of 5% after 2 hours of total immersion in the water. It can be use in wet areas and high humidity areas

SOUND INSULATION
Sound insulation is another consideration for quality wall system, plastec Gypsum Block Wall System can achieve a sound transmission class of 38db to 50db
STRENGTH & ROBUSTNESS
plastec Gypsum Block had achieved the Severe Duty Grade under the Strength and Robustness test in accordance to Bristish Standard : 5234 Part 2 : 1992. It can also withstand impact load, crowd pressure and mounting load
PRODUCTIVITY
Easier, faster and need less labour to build compare to convectional brickwall. It does not require cement and sand plastering and hence reduce messy site and wet trade.

METHOD OF INSTALLATION

Mark out the position of the wall on the floor and intersecting walls. Mixing of plastec Block Adhesive Compound and applied by using a board knife or trowel onto the floor and all leading edges of the plastec Gypsum Block

Set the first block in place with the grooved edges facing downwards and adjacent to the intersecting walls using plastec Block Adhesive Compound on the job

Start alternative course with half block to form over-lapping staggered joint

As each block is set into position, it is then tapped with a rubber mallet to ensure a tight joint. Also check alignment and straightness of the wall

A metal strap to assist fixing to an existing column or wall at every alternative course is recommended

plastec Gypsum Block Wall can be continously laid till height require and ready for final skim coat

On completing of the erection of wall, flush all block surface to a smooth finish by applying a thin coat of skim coat with steel trowel. Skim coat can be applied immediately upon completion of wall

Corner bead is being installed for a better finishes and to protect corners from being chip off by impact
